Intertextuality is the way that similar or related texts influence, reflect, or differ from each other.
Types of Intertextuality:
-Obligatory intertextuality is when a reference is made that is important to the text, So,
if you don't understand the reference then you won't understand the it fully.
-Optional intertextuality means it is possible to find a connection to multiple texts of a single phrase, or no connection at all.
-Accidental intertextuality is when readers often connect a text with another text, cultural practice or a personal experience, without there being any tangible anchorpoint within the original text.
