My magazine uses magazine conventions as it can be compared to a normal sports magazine with a sporty font, big titles, and how the magazine goes together throughout the whole design. challenges conventions by showing new perspectives on a sports magazine. First, this magazine is high schools sports, which most people only talk about professional, as well as this article is not bias and doesn’t pick a side on a topic. Most articles now definitely show bias and want you to think a certain way by the time you are done reading the article. This article does not represent any issues or cover an controversial topic, as it is for the enjoyment and interest of a read.
Second of all, my target audience is the sports and specifically baseball community. My product engages the audience by including topics and headlines that would attract them. The primary audience of my magazine would be baseball fans, as my 2 page and the top headlines are focused on baseball. My product would be distributed as an online media magazine. Nowadays, most people are carrying around a phone so it would be easiest if someone could just pull up the media online rather than read a physical copy. I would try an advertise my media online as on many social media apps every few scrolls or videos, you see an advertise for a product, this would allow many people to get exposed to my product which would let it gain popularity quickly.
My production skills have been able to develop a lot throughout this project. I have learned about Canva, which is the editing platform I used for my cover and my table of contents. Before, this project I have never used Canva, so I was able to learn and figure out how to quickly improve my magazine while getting more familiar with it. I also used photoshop to create my 2-page spread. I have used photoshop a bit before this project, but this has allowed me to expand my knowledge more on the platform. I have improved my skills a lot during this project, especially from being unfamiliar with Canva prior to this project.
Lastly, I integrated technologies in many ways during this project. I used two different types of hardware which is my camera and my computer. I used my computer to take photos for the project. Then, I used my computer to edit and design my project. I used Canva to design my cover and my table of contents, and Photoshop to design my 2 page which are types of software. The way I used online is by using google for information and by using Wix to upload my project.
